Hydrotherapy ~ is one of the most powerful healing components people can apply to themselves or others. All cultures from early times realized the healing qualities of hot and cold water applications to assist the body in healing. Applied properly hydrotherapy can heal nearly any disease in the body, though pharmaceutical companies would have use think otherwise. Hydrotherapy assists the quality and quantity of healthy blood circulating through our body tissue. Using hot and cold water, we can direct the blood circulation to certain areas or decrease it aiding in our healing and cleansing process. The more we improve the quality of blood circulation throughout our body’s the better our health will be. This of course is helped by simple organic diets, gentle exercise, a little sun, laughter and water, water, water. In the 1700's Vincent Priessnitz, an unschooled peasant who cured himself and went on to achieve spectacular results using hydrotherapy treatments. There are too many to name them all who have had great success using hydrotherapy. It would be remiss not to include John Harvey Kellogg whom in the early 1900's ran the Battle Creek Sanatorium in Michigan. He wrote a definitive work called Rational Hydrotherapy in 1901, which is still in use today. Lastly, Dr. O.G. Carroll (1879 - 1962) of Spokane Washington was the busiest health practitioner in the United States in the 1930s and 40's. He healed literally thousands of documented cases until 1962. His daughter and others who studied with him carry on today. |
